The phishers are out there again – here is a obviously fake email I received from the vermin today. This one is rather stupid and is written by an idiot. They apparently didn’t know to include my username or real name like PayPal and Ebay both do when they send you an email – why did they forget this? Because they are spammers and are sending this same email to millions hoping that a few will fall for it. This email apparently came from Albania:
We need your help
Dear Customer,
We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to
work together on this, we’ve temporarily limited what you can do with your
account until the issue is resolved.
We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your PayPal
account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as
quickly as possible.
What’s the problem?
We need a little bit more information about you to help confirm your
identity.

How you can help
It’s usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the
time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest
transactions.
To help us with this and to find out what you can and can’t do with your
account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the
Resolution Center.
Sincerely,
PayPal
PayPal would never ask you to click on a link in an email to confirm your identity. You can also, always, call PayPal customer support at 1(888)221-1161. These numbers also work for PayPal customer service:
1(402)935-2000
1(402)935-2007
1(402)935-2050
If you have a question about an email’s authenticity then be sure and call PayPal’s customer service team. They will look into your account and verify for you whether or not they have sent you that email – most likely it was not from them. Never give anyone like this your account, credit card or other personal information. They will use it to steal money or even your whole identity from you. It can take years to clean this mess up afterwards. So be vigil and don’t respond to scam emails like this phishing attempt.
