Also, Froogal MacDoogals Beverage Warehouse has the best selection I have ever seen. If you are looking for a rare or different beer they have it. If you want beer with higher alcohol percentages (upwards of 11 to 12% instead of the usual 5 to 6%) they have it. They have the best selection in German and Japanese beers and their prices are better then Wal-Mart!
Are you looking for wines and want big savings? They have the best selection from $2 wine bottles on up to $200 bottles of wine. The selection is just unbelievable. I could spend days in Froogal MacDoogal’s just finding stuff I’ve never seen before. They also have a unbelievable liquor selection.
Want 190 proof Everclear? It is illegal in North Carolina, but not in South Carolina. In North Carolina you can only get 151 proof Everclear (75% alcohol), but in South Carolina you can get the maximum strength 190 proof (95% alcohol) Everclear – the same one that the Guiness Book of World Records found to be the strongest liquor in the world. And it is less expensive then the 151 proof Everclear in North Carolina at the ABC stores.
Now, the only advice I can give you when going to and from Froogal MacDoogal’s Beverage Warehouse is to watch out for the jackass NC state troopers that line up at the next exit northbound on I-77. They are looking for people leaving the South Carolina border with North Carolina tags. They will pull you over and look for liquor purchased in SC. Even though you purchased it in SC, NC don’t like being jipped out of their tax revenue.
So, my advice is to take Carowinds Boulevard to South Tryon Street and head northbound. There are never any NC state troopers on that side. It will take longer, though, as there are numerous red lights on the way.
