Here is a great remedy for the common cold from my neighbor that has worked wonders for me over the years!
Got a cold? Feeling down? Do you have a sore throat? Sinuses hurting? Don’t feel good? You need to try this remedy – it works really good on all sorts of colds and even the flu. I first heard of this remedy from the real nice old lady that lived across the street from us when I was growing up.
When I first heard about it I thought it was a joke because she was always putting liquor in everything. She would use a whole bottle of whiskey or rum when she would bake a cake. You could really feel the liquor when you ate anything she cooked, so when she came over one day and found that I was sick with hay fever or something and told me of this remedy I didn’t think much of it.
But she went back home and came right back a few minutes later with this concoction and made me try it and guess what? It really worked! It worked immediately and made me feel almost 100% better! It was amazing. So don’t discount this little remedy and think that its a joke because its not. It really works.
Basically what my neighbor did was she would take a shot or so of really strong liquor (she had a friend that would get her some moonshine in a jar and this is what she used – according to her it was around 140 proof (70% alcohol by volume)) in a glass or mug. Then she would add about 2 to 3 times that amount of hot, boiling water to the container.
After that she would put a few drops of a fresh squeezed lemon in it. Then she mixed it up and told me to drink it all while it is hot. Try this – it works amazing. My neighbor died a few years back, but I have used this same cold remedy since numerous times and it always works (even worked when I had the swine flu 2 years ago and that was terrible).
I don’t have the connections my neighbor had for moonshine so I just use 80 proof rum or vodka from the local liquor store in its place. It still works great. So, next time you come down with a cold and can’t sleep or feel terrible give this cold remedy a try – you will be glad you did.

Very interesting. I get sick 2 or 3 times each fall and I will have to try that.
The only problem I have with this is where can I get some moonshine? I don’t know of where I could get some, but I would like to get some if someone could tell me. I live in Broome County New York (Conklin area) and would love to buy some good moonshine. Or maybe someone could teach me how to make my own?
Can albinos drink moonshine? I heard a rumor that it causes them to implode.
